ABOUT ME
Experience CareTalk
Dr. Wilson is a speaker, author, and professor with over twenty years of social work experience. She has worked as a clinical social worker, professional coach, and university professor. Dr. Wilson earned several degrees: Ph.D., Human Services with a concentration in Social Work and Community Services from Capella University, Master of Social Work degree from Florida State University, Master of Business Administration from Saint Leo University, and Bachelor of Social Work degree from Alabama State University. She is a licensed master social worker in the state of Georgia. She also holds a certificate in Contemporary Theory in Addictive Behavior and is a Certified Professional Life Coach. Dr. Wilson is a tenured associate professor of Human Services at Saint Leo University.
She and her husband lived the caregiving experience when they cared for her mother-in-law. This process was eye-opening for their family as they experienced strain on all levels of their life. Because of their journey, Dr. Wilson combined her professional, academic, and personal experiences to create CareTalk.
CareTalk, LLC, helps families navigate and prepare for family caregiving and provide educational opportunities for helping professionals. Dr. Wilson is the author of several peer-reviewed journal articles and a self-published book, “The Sandwich Generation: Learning how to balance caring for your children and aging parents.” She also created “Essentials for Successful Caregiving Preparation,” which is a course designed to prepare individuals for family caregiving. Dr. Wilson is a wife and mother of three daughters. She loves to cook and do fun and relaxing activities with her family and friends.
Our mission is to educate, support, and encourage caregivers. Dr. Wilson's focus is on equipping current and future caregivers for their caregiving journey.
